I love lighting very much. If you’ve been here for more than a few weeks, you’ll know this already. After architecture, I’d argue it duels with layout for what has the biggest impact on a space. Lighting adds beauty, it adds function, it zones spaces within spaces, it gives pieces of furniture and art their dignity by allowing them to do what they’re designed to do. I’ve just designed my own lighting range, and I have such a soft spot for vintage lighting.
We have vintage lighting throughout our bathroom and kitchen. We have a vintage pendant in our front hall and another in our living room. A vintage pendant hangs in our laundry room and a vintage wall light adorns our home office. Vintage lighting adds so much character and charm that’s hard to replicate.
While this is a list of vintage lights I love that are currently available, it’s also a good little list of some of my go-to suppliers.
Nota bene: these are one-offs so when they’re gone, they’re gone!
